I thought this graphic was great, but it still doesn't list everything we do during the day. We middle school nurses have a lot of scanning on our plate in the coming year with the new vaccine requirements!
More seriously, however, is the fact that we deal with kids who struggle with serious social and personal issues. Many of our kids are battling adult-type emotional issues and we see many panic attacks and anxious episodes.
Many kids arrive at school having not eaten any breakfast-- some by choice, but a few who are truly in need. I and the counselors keep some simple snacks at school to help our students get a healthy start to their day.
I cannot say enough how proud I am to be part of this team. I frequently interface with Mr. Greene, Mrs. Comer, and Ms. Seabolt, and they are wonderful mentors and excellent leaders. They have such compassion for our students-- yes, all 1188 of them, and it shows. I am truly blessed.
